Fanatec tightens the price screw – Direct Drive Wheel Bases are becoming permanently cheaper

02. February 2026
Hold on to your rigs, because news is coming out of Landshut that is shaking up the market. If you've been using a belt drive or have been thinking about upgrading to the ClubSport series for a while, now is the time.

Fanatec has massively reduced prices. And when we say “massively”, we really mean discounts of up to €200 on current hardware. We took a close look at the numbers for you and put things into proper perspective.

Why suddenly cheaper?
A quick bit of background: as many of you have noticed, a fresh wind has been blowing at Fanatec since the takeover by hardware giant Corsair. Officially, Fanatec states that “technical and operational improvements” make these price reductions possible.

Translated for us sim racers, this means: thanks to Corsair, logistics are running more smoothly and production is more efficient – and this advantage is now (finally) being passed on to us. On top of that, Fanatec has just launched the new Podium DD flagship base, which creates room in the price structure for the models below.

The hard facts: where do you really save?
Things get most interesting in the mid-range, the so-called “sweet spot” between 12 and 15 Nm. This is where you can now get professional-grade hardware at prices that would have been unthinkable just two years ago.

Here’s an overview of the new price points:

Fanatec® CSL DD QR2 Wheel Base (5 Nm): €349,95 €329,95
Fanatec® CSL DD QR2 Wheel Base (8 Nm): €449,95 €429,95
Fanatec® Gran Turismo DD Pro Wheel Base (8 Nm): €599,95 €499,95
Fanatec® ClubSport DD Wheel Base (15 Nm): €999,95 €799,95
Fanatec® ClubSport DD Wheel Base (12 Nm): €799,95 €599,95

What does this mean for your setup?
At SimUltimate, we’re often asked: “Do I really need 20 Nm of torque?” The honest answer: not necessarily. But the jump from 5 or 8 Nm to 12 or 15 Nm (ClubSport series) is the most noticeable upgrade you can experience. You get more detail, feel loss of grip earlier, and avoid clipping issues in fast corners. The fact that the ClubSport DD is now priced so close to entry-level models makes it the absolute hottest recommendation for anyone who wants to take their rig seriously.

Fanatec is reacting to the market, and Corsair’s power in the background is already showing further positive effects for end customers. If you’re currently planning or upgrading your setup with us, make sure to factor in these new prices.
