The Fanatec Wheel bestsellers in 2025

05. January 2026
A high-quality wheel is much more than just a visual highlight. It directly influences your control over the vehicle, your consistency over long stints and ultimately your lap times. The shape, diameter, grip material, switch layout and shift mechanism determine how precisely and intuitively you can move a car.

But which Fanatec wheels stood out the most in 2025, and why do they rank among the best-selling models?

CSL P1 V2 Wheel – The Best Entry into the Fanatec World
The CSL P1 V2 Wheel remains one of Fanatec’s absolute bestsellers in 2025 – and for good reason. Hardly any other steering wheel offers such a strong price-to-performance ratio while being so well suited as an entry point into the direct drive segment.

With its round 300 mm rim, it is extremely versatile. It feels just as at home in GT cars as it does in formula cars, rally driving, or drifting. This universal geometry is exactly what makes the P1 V2 one of the most flexible wheels in the entire Fanatec portfolio.

Fanatec itself aptly describes it as a fully featured steering wheel at the lowest possible price – without compromising on performance. Combined with the CSL DD or the Gran Turismo DD Pro Wheel Base, it is the perfect gateway into the world of direct drive sim racing.

CSL Elite Porsche Vision GT Wheel – Virtual Design Becomes Reality
The CSL Elite Porsche Vision GT Wheel is based on the spectacular steering wheel of the Porsche Vision Gran Turismo from Gran Turismo 7. Fanatec has translated this virtual concept into a real high-end sim racing product – with impressive attention to detail.

The 310 mm wheel is made of aluminium and features grippy Tactaris grips, magnetic shifters, seven rotary encoders, numerous buttons, and an integrated OLED display for live telemetry and tuning parameters. Functionality and design blend seamlessly here.

The wheel is compatible with all Fanatec wheel bases, including the Gran Turismo DD Pro and ClubSport DD+. Thanks to support for PS4, PS5, and PC, it is not only a powerful tool on track but also a true collector’s item for Porsche fans.

ClubSport Formula V2.5 / V2.5X Wheel – The Formula Benchmark
The ClubSport Formula V2.5 series has been a staple in sim racing for years – and in 2025 it once again ranks among the best-selling Fanatec wheels. Developed for high-speed racing and open-wheel cars, it delivers maximum precision and a relentlessly sporty layout.

The carbon-fibre-reinforced front plate, compact format, and magnetic shifters ensure a direct, latency-free driving experience – especially on technical tracks and during rapid direction changes.

Formula V2.5: PC compatible (PlayStation with licensed base)
Formula V2.5X: PC and Xbox compatible (PlayStation with licensed base)

Both variants use the QR2 quick-release system, allowing force feedback details to come through especially clearly and without loss – particularly when paired with the latest Fanatec direct drive bases.

CSL Elite GT3 Wheel – Pure Control for GT Racing
The CSL Elite GT3 Wheel puts you straight into the cockpit of a modern GT car. Officially licensed for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, it comes with a preinstalled QR2 and is compatible with all Fanatec wheel bases.

Rubberised grips, magnetic shifters, dual analogue clutch paddles, a 1‑inch OLED display, multi-position switches, a 7‑way FunkySwitch, and nine freely assignable buttons make this wheel a complete GT racing solution.

Especially in endurance racing, the GT3 wheel impresses with its ergonomics, clarity, and a very controlled force feedback feel.

ClubSport BMW M3 GT2 V2 – Authenticity at Racing Level
The ClubSport BMW M3 GT2 V2 Wheel is a faithful replica of the real BMW M3 GT2 racing steering wheel. Dimensions, materials, and haptics match the original – including a 320 mm diameter and genuine Italian Alcantara.

Thanks to a revised construction, the weight has been reduced by around 30% compared to the previous version, without sacrificing stability or durability. The result is an extremely realistic steering feel that truly shines in GT cars.

It is no surprise that this wheel ranked among the favourites of many sim racers in 2025 – especially those who value authenticity, comfort, and uncompromising performance, very much in the spirit of BMW.

  1. Honestly, the Thrustmaster T‑GT II still holds its ground pretty well against the Fanatec CSL P1 V2. The feedback feels just as immersive, especially for the price.

  2. Ngl, while the CSL P1 V2 is killer for beginners, pairing it with high-quality pedals really makes a difference. It’s not just about the wheel; the full setup enhances the whole experience.
